Seafaring Family
We aim to safeguard the well-being of Filipino seafaring families by strengthening the family unit and providing a supportive and nurturing community.
We aim to become a force for good in the maritime industry by creating and nurturing the largest community of empowered Filipino seafaring families.
Seafaring Family
Seafaring Family International is the Philippines’ biggest leading community of Filipino seafarers and their families.
A non-government, non-profit organization, SeaFam provides a range of social services such as counseling, education/training, and networking opportunities to help seafarers and their loved ones flourish both at sea and on land.
At SeaFam, our priority is to safeguard the well-being of seafaring families across three aspects
Safety at work
At SeaFam, we recognize the inherent risks faced by seafarers in their line of work. Our programs aim to ensure a stable and supportive home environment, allowing seafarers to focus fully on their profession without unnecessary distractions or worries.
Safety of Relationships
We understand the strains of prolonged separation from loved ones. Through counseling services and seminars, SeaFam fosters stronger communication between seafarers and their spouses, as well as among other family members. By nurturing these relationships, we strive to provide a sense of security and connection despite the miles between them.
Safety of the Family’s Future
Seafarers dedicate themselves to their maritime careers with the aim of securing their family’s future. Through our educational programs, SeaFam empowers families with financial planning and business skills, ensuring they remain resilient and prosperous beyond the seafarer’s active career.
SeaFam is more than just an organization—it’s a safe harbor where a community embarks on a shared journey towards a brighter future.
A Supportive, Understanding Family
We believe that behind every successful seafarer is a supportive family that understands the demands of their career.
A Nurturing Community
We provide a safe space for families with shared experiences; a community that cares for one another and grows together.
Service with Compassion
We seek to understand the situation of each member of our community so that we can give the proper care and support that they need.
Empowerment through Education
We empower seafarers and their families by equipping them with additional knowledge and skills that can boost their confidence and help uplift their lives.
Honest and Respectful Communication
We uphold respectful and truthful communication between SeaFam and the seafarers, their families, and the organizations we engage with.
Pride in the Maritime Profession
We believe that a maritime career is worthy of honor and respect. When we treat every seafarer and seafarer’s family with dignity, we help uplift the entire industry.

Our Story
founding –
establishing SeaFam
Seafaring Family International’s journey began in 2014 under the initiative of Arianne Rocha, a media figure with roots in the maritime sector. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by Filipino seafarers and their families, Rocha established a support group within a manning company to provide them with various social services. This was driven by the belief that for seafarers to excel professionally, a fulfilling family life is critical to their overall wellbeing.
expansion & growth –
achieving significant milestones
The response from seafarers’ spouses was overwhelming. Realizing the widespread need for a support network and its impact on the families, SeaFam transcended its initial scope, evolving into an autonomous organization catering to families across various manning companies and shipping lines.
In a profession fraught with perilous work environments, cutthroat competition, and prolonged separations from loved ones, SeaFam serves as a sanctuary for Filipino seafarers and their families. It stands as a beacon of support, offering a community that deeply understands their unique way of life, and providing avenues to enhance it. For some, SeaFam is a lifeline; a vital support system that offers solace and encouragement amid the challenges of maritime life.
